BRITTANY COTTAGES: LOCALITY

La belle Bretagne - a foretaste.........

DINAN - This medieval town with its old houses, streets and ramparts which overlook the Rance is the place to see.

Its market on Thursday is well worth a visit and the créperies and various restaurants at very reasonable prices will definitely keep Dinan in your memories....

In particular the port with it's viaduct is a "must see" with all its restaurants with chances to sit outside and enjoy the warm summer sun...............

Also the beautiful village of Lehon on the other side of the Rance is something you shouldn't miss.

Here you see the mussel beds of St Jacut......

This area is famous for its mussels, the so-called "Moules de Bouchots" which are some of the best in the world..........

You can also see some of the beaches that make St Jacut famous for its 11 beaches.....

And if you want to go "walking on the wild side......."

Try Cap Frehel............

Here you can walk around as on the Coastal Path of Cornwall with the wild sea temperament you expect from such a landscape............

It's wild and it's very picturesque, and it's well worth the visit...........
Take a trip to Dol de Bretagne

Where you'll find a beautiful medieval town with a market on Saturday and an even more relaxed atmosphere than in Dinan. Here you can try the créperies all of which are very good and offer great prices and an ambience to die for..........

For those who take the ferry to St Malo this will be their first sight of the walled town, and you'll be glad to get away from the crowds on the ferry and head towards your holiday Gite............., but it is worth going back to visit.
Take a walk around the Ramparts of the "Intra-Muros" town or wander through the narrow alleys and lanes that form the old part of the town.

And guess what?

The créperie here are also worth a visit or sample the moules frites sitting outside in the shadow of the wall and watch the world go by.................

And as you can see, the beaches here aren't too bad either...........

And whilst we're talking about beaches, how about this stretch at St Cast le Guildo....?????????

Beautiful soft sand and clear blue sea...........

And as you can see, plenty of room for everyone.............

And if you want to do more than just lie in the sun......

Try your hand at Sand Yachting at the well-known beach track at Cherrueix......

With views of   "Le Mont"

And of course there's always the well-known Mont St Michel !!

Just a warning though, during the school holidays you can see the sun shining off the roofs of the cars at 08.30 in the morning......!!!!!!

Well it is very popular!!

Hope to hear from you soon..........
